I started volunteering at our local county animal shelter in 2017. It was the most rewarding and heartbreaking thing I've done. It made me question my faith in humanity and restored it, often in the same day.

It was where I met Barbie, the dog that would change my life for the better. She was afraid of everything especially men. despite the many challenges, Barbie needed someone to believe in her enough to see the great dog that was hiding under all of her fear.
